Working
in the Arctic

We would like all applicants to be aware that working in the Arctic presents a unique set of challenges unlike any other environment. With average temperatures of around –20°C, limited daylight hours, and roles that are predominantly outdoors, thorough preparation is essential to safeguarding your health and wellbeing.

While demanding, our roles are also highly rewarding and offer an exciting experience for individuals who thrive under pressure and embrace dynamic working conditions.

Lapland

What to expect

The roles we offer at Canterbury Travel are highly bespoke and come with truly unforgettable experiences. Our season is based in the Arctic, offering breathtaking landscapes, vast snow-covered terrain, and the incredible opportunity to witness the Aurora Borealis.

That said, life and work in the Arctic are uniquely challenging. Sub-zero temperatures, extended periods of polar night, and a quieter social environment are all part of the experience. While these conditions can be demanding, they are also deeply rewarding for those who arrive prepared, adaptable, and with the right mindset.

We are committed to ensuring applicants fully understand what working in this environment entails. You will have the opportunity to ask questions throughout the application process, and successful candidates will receive detailed information to help them prepare for both the professional and personal aspects of Arctic life.
